Ali Shafeya
Ali Shafeya Al-Moussawi (Arabic علي شفيع الموسوي) (December 16, 1984 – December 14, 2007, Baghdad, Iraq) was a special correspondent for the online independent news service Alive in Baghdad. He was killed in his home in Baghdad's Habibya neighborhood (part of the Sadr City district) during a raid by Iraqi National Guard forces. The official report said he was struck between the chest and the head by 31 bullets and died instantly of his wounds. He is survived by his mother and sister, refugees in Damascus, Syria. He is predeceased by his brothers, killed on October 24, 2005 in the Firdos Square bombing, and his father, who was kidnapped and found dead.
