Alexandra Wilson (meteorologist)

Alexandra "Alex" Wilson (born November 10, 1983) is an American meteorologist currently working for The Weather Channel. Wilson joined the network in 2013. She currently co-anchors Weather Center Live weekday afternoons 2-5pm ET.

Education

Wilson attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Broadcast Journalism and Marketing in May 2006. She went on to attend the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, graduating with distinction with a BS in Meteorology in December 2007. While at Penn State, she was a Recipient of a Joel N. Myers Scholarship in Meteorology.

Wilson is also an American Meteorological Society Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

Career

Wilson began her career as a meteorologist at both WOWK-TV in Charleston, West Virginia and sister station WVNS-TV in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Prior to working at The Weather Channel, she also worked as a broadcast meteorologist at Fox Carolina, the Fox affiliate station for western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

Wilson joined The Weather Channel in March 2013.
