Alex Meyer (political strategist)

Alex Meyer is the deputy assistant to the president and director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in President Donald Trump's government. He previously served as a deputy political director in the 2024 Trump/Vance Campaign, where he managed operations in Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. He has also served as President Trump's senior advisor during the 2024 presidential primary, taking charge of Iowa.

Early life and education

Meyer studied economics at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). His interest in politics started when he interned at the Capitol Hill for Missouri GOP representative, Blaine Luetkemeyer. It is while working in this office that he decided to venture into political campaigns.

Career

Political campaign

Meyer has served as the Political Data Support and Data Analyst for the Republican National Committee (RNC). He also served in the Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Regional Field Director during the successful 2016 election campaign for senator Roy Blunt.

in 2018 Meyer worked as the State Director for Missouri Republican National Committee, where he was tasked with conducting grassroots field programs for the Republican Party, engaging with voters on the ground, and driving party policies.

In 2020, he managed the campaigns for the Republican Party's candidate Lisa Scheller in Pennsylvania’s 7th District.

Trump campaign

Meyer took part in President Donald J. Trump's 2024 political campaign, where he served as the deputy political director.

In the campaigns, he is credited with creating the Trump Force 47 strategy alongside James Blair, the political director; the campaign was meant to win voters in key battleground states.

During the 2024 presidential primaries, he served as a senior advisor for President Trump's Iowa Caucus Campaign.

In February 2025, Meyer was appointed the deputy assistant to the president and director of the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. In this capacity, he plays various roles, including liaison with state, county, and local governments on matters of interest.
