Alex Clackson
Alexander Clackson is the founder of Global Political Insight, a think-tank that focuses on international relations and global affairs. He is also a political analyst and commentator and frequently contributes to other think-tanks and media outlets. His work has been featured on CCTV America, Russia Today (RT), Open Democracy, Centre for Research on Globalization, Russian International Affairs Council, Future Foreign Policy think-tank, New Eastern Outlook journal and other outlets. He previously worked as a journalist for The Upcoming.
Clackson’s area of expertise includes Russia and the wider Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. He regularly contributes to Russia Insider, a media outlet that specifically focuses on Russia and the Eurasian region. He is also interested in the Middle East region and how the U.S. foreign policy affects the global order.
Education
Alexander Clackson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Hull. His dissertation focused on Russian domestic politics. He then studied a Master of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of York. His thesis was about the Iraq War in 2003. Clackson's most prominent academic work includes an essay on Conflict and Cooperation in International Relations.
Global Political Insight
Alexander Clackson founded Global Political Insight (GPI) think-tank in 2014. Based in London, it publishes research papers and analyses the latest global political developments. Currently, the organisation is working on a research publication on the EU-Russia relations.
