Alban Bala

Alban Bala (born May 24, 1970) is an Albanian writer and PR practitioner. He is the founder of the Albanian Institute of Public Relations and CEO of COMPORT, the First Local PR company, an integrated communications firm based in Albania and Kosovo.

Bala was born in Tirana Albania, but grew up in Lezhe, a medieval city known as a cradle of poetry and arts in Albania. There he studied music and had his first verses published in the local press. His first collection of poems, 'Semafor' was published in 1989 and was followed by another collection in 1993 'Lerme te Hesht' (Let Me Be Silent) - following his return from a period in Europe in a desperate emigration effort. In 1994 he published a collection of short stories 'Te verberit' (The Blinds), deciding thereafter to remain silent for AbOUT 10 years before publishing a collection of short novels entitled 'Ikje nga Shtrati'(Spill Out of Bed), followed two years later by a poems collection Ngjyra mbi Det (Colors on the Sea) and another short short stories collection in 2009 'Qyteti me Sy te Kuq' (The City of Red Eyes).

As a PR person, Bala has been ACTIVE to promote nationally the new concepts of social marketing, a new vision of PR applications towards sustainable development - especially in the institutional and sectoral strategy building process. As a lobbyist and PR practitioner he advices clients developing green field investments in Albania currently amounting to approximately $6 billion.
