Alan November
Alan November is an American educator and educational consultant. He currently lives in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Alan November is notable in that he is believed to be the first major educator to embrace modern web technologies commonly referred to as Web 2.0 in elementary, middle, and high schools. 1 Alan was one of the initial five Christa McAuliffe Educators, co-founded the Institute for education leadership and technology at Stanford, and is the author of Empowering Students with Technology. 2 3
He runs November Learning educational consulting as well as the educational blogging software NLCommunities. His annual summer conference Building Learning Communities is very popular.
Mr. November was educated at University of Massachusetts and Harvard University and the University of Edinburgh. He now teaches at the doctoral level at Seton Hall.
His most recent book, Empowering Students With Technology, describes the opportunity to empower students to be critical thinkers and to add value to the world.
