Dr. Alan Robert Malouf, D.D.S. is a society dentist practicing in San Francisco, California.

Born the son of a textile manufacturer. Dr. Malouf is a third generation San Franciscan and resides in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California. His family name is of Lebanese descent. Dr. Malouf is a supporter of the arts and is known for his patronage of the San Francisco Opera and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
Education and career
Dr. Malouf received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his doctorate from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Dr. Malouf opened his private dental practice in 1989. His practice, located at 450 Sutter Street in Union Square, is one of the most respected in San Francisco, serving many high-profile clients.
Personal life
Dr. Malouf, a trained pianist, is a collector and connoisseur of fine arts and antiques. His private collection includes examples of English Regency period furniture, California Plein Air Impressionist paintings, 19th century Persian carpets, Edo period Japanese screens, Tang Dynasty pottery and Ming Dynasty porcelain. He is also a patron of many philanthropic organizations, including the San Francisco Opera, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Prince of Wales Foundation.
Dr. Malouf was a lead sponsor for Cartier and America, an exhibition at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco from December 2009 to May 2010. The exhibition was exclusive to San Francisco and commemorated Cartier’s 100th anniversary in the United States. The retrospective featured important jewelry, clocks and objet d’art from American collections as well as rare pieces from Cartier's private collection, never seen before in public. When asked why he chose to sponsor the Cartier in America exhibition, Dr. Malouf was quoted as saying, “I'm enthralled by that kind of intricacy and detail."
In the spring of 2010, Dr. Malouf was recommended to become a member of the The Prince of Wales Foundation. The Prince of Wales Foundation is a charity organization that bestows grants in the United States, Britain and other countries. As a member of the Foundation, Dr. Malouf has been a guest of Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and in Scotland.
Through his appearances at philanthropic, cultural and society events, Dr. Malouf is consistently named among the best-dressed gentlemen in San Francisco society and is a prominent fixture in the social scene.
