Alan Gilbride

Alan Gilbride (born 3 March 1988 in Greenock) is a Scottish footballer. He currently plays for Greenock Morton in the Scottish First Division.

Before joining Morton's first team, he played in the under 17s.

Alan is a centre back who made his Morton senior debut on 23 November 2004 in a Scottish Cup 1st round tie against East Stirlingshire aged Just 16 years old. Before this game the local newspaper The Greenock Telegraph ran an article on how Gilbride had to go to school on the day of the game.

His next first team outing came on the last day of the 2005/06 season against Forfar Athletic. Morton won 2-0 with a team composed mainly of first team fringe players, reserves and youth team players.

Last season Gilbride was "farmed out" on loan to Scottish Junior Football Association club Largs Thistle F.C.. But this year he will spend the first half of the season on loan to Stenhousemuir F.C.
