Alain Romanos

Alain H. Romanos is a Lebanese periodontist, implant surgeon, and university lecturer known for his clinical work and research in implant dentistry, periodontal plastic surgery, and soft-tissue management. He is an assistant professor at the Lebanese University and a distinguished adjunct faculty member at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. Romanos is also a visiting assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he completed his postgraduate specialty training in periodontology.

Romanos has published peer-reviewed research on implant complications, soft-tissue grafting, esthetic implant outcomes, and periodontal regeneration, including articles indexed in PubMed and ScienceDirect.

Early life and education

Romanos was born on 9 December 1975 in Lebaa, Lebanon. He earned his DDS with honors ([...] Laude) from the Free University of Brussels in 1999. He completed postgraduate training in implantology and prosthodontics at the same university (1999–2000).

He later moved to the United States, where he completed a General Practice Residency (2000–2001) and a Master of Science in Periodontology (2001–2004) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology in 2006.

Romanos has served as:

Romanos is married to pharmacist Nataly Bitar and has three children. He is active in community dental initiatives and has participated in medical missions, refugee support programs, and post-crisis humanitarian dental care in Lebanon.
