Akis Kazas

Akis Kazas (, ; born October 17, 1989 in Athens) better known as Yorgos Iordanidis, is a Greek football coach.

Club career

Youth years

He started his career at the age of six playing for the youth Department Of his local area team Agia Paraskevi F.C. in Athens. He played football for 5 consecutive years there and he eventually left because he wanted a fresh start. After a short-term deal with a team in Athens, he eventually joined AEK Athens academy for two years from 2003 to 2005.Then he signed a three year contract with the reserves team of Nea Ionia that participated in the Delta Ethniki at that time. After a full year there, he was loaned out to play matches for Eleftheroupoli F.C. in the Greek Fifth Division. He stayed there for two years completing almost 50 appearances for both the reserves and first team squad.

Blackpool FC

At 2009 he signed a six months contract with Blackpool F.C. Under 20s team. Due to a serious knee injury - Anterior cruciate ligament injury, Tear of meniscus, Tibial plateau fracture - after the first 3 months of his time there his contract was terminated. He then went back to Greece in order to recover from his injury. After sixteen months he managed to come back into football by joining Inter Football Academy in September 2010, under the instructions of Peter John Farrell in England but he was affected too much from his injury to be able to play in high level again. He played in two games for the academy against Curzon Ashton FC reserves team and Workington A.F.C. and he was also a member of the squad in the match against Wrexham F.C. reserves team.

Sholing FC

From 20 October 2011 until 16 March 2012, he was on contract with Sholing F.C. but he could not convince them that he deserved a contract extension for the forthcoming season.

Queen's Keep Southampton FC

He signed up with the team that participates in the Southampton Saturday Football League in March 2013, after his failure to impress the coach of Lymington Town F.C. in a trial that he had in October 2012 with the club. He debuted in the 5-0 defeat against Colden Common F.C. when he came into the game as a substitute in the 70th minute of the game without being able to help his team to achieve a better result and while the score was already 3-0 against his team. Second appearance as a sub in the match against Liphook United which ended 1-2 in favor of his team.

Coaching career

Recent era

UEFA C qualified football coach from Manchester FA since February 2011. Worked as a sports coach for the period between 13 of June to 16 of July 2012 in a summer camp held by Organization Earth an international non-governmental organization which is located in the town of Agioi Anargyroi in Athens of Greece.

Volunteerism

Started his voluntary action in the community of Southampton in 2011, where he was football coach and physiotherapist of Queen's Keep Southampton FC under 13s and under 14s for two consecutive years. Additionally he offered his services to Chamberlayne Athletic Ladies FC from January to February 2013, in the Hampshire amateur football leagues.
