Aistemos is a data science and intellectual property company specialising in IP strategy, analytics and risk management services.

History

Aistemos was founded in 2013 by Nigel Swycher.

The company’s main product is CIPHER, the world’s first IP business intelligence product to aggregate and visualise patent data for businesses. CIPHER was launched in 2014.

People

Aistemos CEO is Nigel Swycher, an intellectual property lawyer who was a partner with Slaughter and May and latterly Olswang.

Steve Harris is the CTO. Harris was an academic at the University of Southampton, specialising in information extraction, graph databases, and analytics. Harris advises the UK government and European Commission on issues of information security and data science, and contributed to Graph Database standards at the W3C.

Aistemos’ advisory board includes Sir Nigel Shadbolt and Professor Jeremy Phillips.

CIPHER

In 2014 Aistemos launched what they claim to be the world’s first patent analytics product to aggregate and visualise IP data for businesses.

The product is unique in that it aggregates data from the widest source of data in the world; Thomson Reuters, KtMine, Lex Machina, Patent Freedom, Relecura, 1790 Analytics, USPTO, European Patent Office (EPO) and IPlytics.
