Airsoft in the United States

Airsoft in the United States is practised by teams teams or teams simulating United States Military forces commonly reside in the United States. Most of these teams try to simulate there favourite U.S. armed forces branch whether it be the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Navy or a Special Operations unit from one of the branches. Some teams also simulate police SWAT teams. The weapons, equipment and clothing varies according to the force the teams emulates.

Weapons

The most common Weapon used by U.S. forces and airsoft teams is the M16 or the M4 rifles. There sidearm varies by personal preference usually. Other common weapons include but are not limited to the M14, M249 or bolt action sniper rifles. More weapons include hand grenades, M203s or LAWs.

Clothing

Teams usually adopt clothing similar to — if not an exact copy of – the battle dress uniform (BDU) of the real military branch they wish to simulate. Players simulating the United States Army commonly wear the new Army Combat Uniform (ACU) or the Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU) it replaced or even the older Woodland BDU that provides better camouflage in areas with dense vegetation. If representing the United States Marine Corps (USMC) they will most likely wear MARPAT or the Woodland BDUs it replaced. Players representing the Air Force or Navy will most likely wear woodland BDUs or DCUs. If the team is trying to simulate a police SWAT team they will most likely wear Black.
