After The Ordeal
After The Ordeal is an English Post-Hardcore band from Gravesend and Barnehurst in Kent, formed in August 2008. The band recorded their debut EP, "A Means To An End", in December 2008 at Canterbury College, which is due for release on June 29 2009.
Biography
After The Ordeal formed in August 2008 from members of other bands of different genres. One of the songs written in a previous band, that included Peter, Jack, Shane and Rhys, was "The Key", this is the final track of the EP "A Means To An End" and is the only song that was kept from previous bands. The band organised their own debut tour, promoting their EP and had T-shirts produced, the main design being created by the band members themselves with the exception of the font used. The tour went from 27 March to 5 April. On this tour they went as far as Wales.
Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2009
In June 2009, After The Ordeal won the "Red Bull Bedroom Jam" competition, allowing them to play Download Festival 2009 from their bedroom. The band would perform live from their bedroom, and the performance would be streamed directly on to the stage screens in Donington Park during the Saturday night of the festival, making it officially the world's first "virtual gig". After The Ordeal (also known as ATO) played after Pendulum and before Marilyn Manson on the Saturday of the festival. The streamed set can be viewed under "Red Bull Bedroom Jam" in the "external links" section.
