Afghanistan Pakistan People's Friendship Association

Afghanistan Pakistan People's Friendship Association is a group which operates in Afghanistan and Pakistan with the aim to promote various issues such as refugees, free trade zones, education, landmines, and poverty. The organisation organises various conferences, including collaborative efforts with the United Nations Human Rights Commission.

It should be noted, that in the 1950's there was a movement for the formation of a confederation between the two countries which was unsuccessful due to the influence of vested groups who felt they would lose influence and power under The New arrangements.

There is still a palpable feeling at current, despite strained relations and a constant barrage of antagonistic propaganda eminating from both countries and in particular from India, for the eventual unification or formation of a confederation of Afghanistan and Pakistan as both countries in essence, share similar cultures, ethnic groups, and historical references.
