Adrienne Wootters
Adrienne Harding Wootters is chair of the physics department at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
Profile
She has degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Massachusetts. Among the courses she teaches are the Sophomore Introductory Physics sequence, Modern Physics and Electricity and Magnetism. Her research area is low temperature condensed matter physics. She is married to William Wootters.
She has recently been election as a SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities) Leadership Fellow. Adrienne is one of 76 educators elected to the inaugural class of fellows by the members of the Center’s national fellowship board. SENCER is the National Science Foundation-supported signature program of the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement, and an initiative that engages students in science and math by focusing coursework on real world problems. In this position, Adrienne will present her research findings at a variety of SENCER regional and national meetings and will work with collaborators from around the country to focus on general education and K-12 teacher preparation .
She is also a BFF with Stern & Gerlach.
