Adriano "Nasal" Pereira
Adriano "Nasal" Pereira is a Brazilian mixed martial arts competitor. He is a member of the Brazilian Top Team, and is currently a full time instructor at BTT Long Beach, CA.
Biography
A champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Nasal has recently taken his submission fighting skills stateside from Brazil to Memphis, Tenn, and now to Long Beach, CA. Nasal moved to the United States in 2006 with his wife to work and train at Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu after meeting the school's owner at Submission Sport Grappling Championships. Besides his classes in Long Beach, he is also training for, and earning notoriety on Mixed Martial Arts events like GFC, the Gracie Fighting Championship (winner of May 2006), Ring of Combat (winner of August 2006) and AFC (winner of July 2005).
Mixed Martial Arts Career
While in the states, Nasal has competed in numerous MMA events such as EliteXC, the Absolute Fighting Championships and the Ring of Combat where he is the current SUPER-Welterweight champion.
In his biggest fight to date, Nasal lost a close decision on the Feb. 10 2007, EliteXC "DESTINY" undercard against tough Javier Vazquez. The fight was back and forth as Nasal tried to impose his gameplan as much as possible against the very skilled 12-2 Vasquez. Though Nasal lost the fight according to the judges, he feels it was one of his better performances against a tough opponent who has beaten the likes of UFC veteran Rob Emerson.
