Adam Baylin

Adam Baylin is a fictional character from the ABC Family series Kyle XY and is portrayed by J. Eddie Peck.

Biography

Born presumably in the late 1950s to early 1960s, Baylin was in a surrogate mother's womb for thirteen months; therefore, his brain had more time to develop. The surrogate died from complications of his birth. Adam attended the University of Washington and dated someone with the first initial of S (Sarah), having been last seen together at JP's Restaurant by Route 12 in June of 1982. After years of work, he eventually developed an artificial gestation chamber and he invented a fluid that would provide oxygen and nourish the embryo placed inside, therefore leaving no need for an umbilical cord, leaving the resulting child without a belly button. Baylin created Kyle XY and kept him gestating inside a carefully monitored gestation chamber for over sixteen years so his brain would develop far beyond the human norm. Baylin was shot in the heart and supposedly died in "The Prophet." In the mid season 2 finale "Leap of Faith", it was revealed that he survived the shot, but is in an intense coma.
