Abunai! convention

Abunai! is the largest anime convention in The Netherlands, Europe.

Abunai! was held for the first time in 2003. Back then it was organised by Konnichiwa, a student organisation at the University of Enschede. As time went by the convention became too large for the relativly small student organisation to handle. Therefore the Abunai! Foundation was founded. Since then Abunai! has be growing rapidly, becoming the largest Dutch anime convention in 2008. The convention grew because of the CASUAL and social mood on convetion grounds, since the former largest dutch anime convention became too commercial for normal visitors. This image spread fast through central europe, especially to neighbouring country's Germany and Belgium. According to official expectations, AbOUT 1500 visitors. However, many dutch community's expect over a 2 thousand visitors during the upcoming convention of autumn 2009.

The name of the convention comes from the japanese word "abunai", which means "look out!" or "danger".
