A Hero From a Thousand Paces

A Hero From a Thousand Paces is a six-piece rock/pop band from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They formed in 2004 and were signed to 1x1 Music.

History

In early 2004, following the break-up of Riding Bikes, lead singer Mark Fray and drummer Chris Donegan assembled a band to deliver catchy, hook-laden rock with a guitar, a piano driven rhythm section and sing-along choruses. After a lineup was secured, the band quickly wrote a handful of demo tracks and over the next few months recorded five songs with producers Nick Rotundo (the Huntingtons, boysetsfire, None More Black) and Joe Pizarro (Adonis).

After what would be considered a lengthy recording process, Hero played everywhere they could, garnering attention from the scene, as well as record labels. In December of 2005, 1x1 Music signed Hero and they began preparations for their debut album. After a few lineup changes and medical problems, Hero persevered and finished the album through another lengthy recording process. It was titled Mistakes and released April 3, 2007 on 1x1 Music, distributed through Fontana. To support The Release, Hero played a majority of the FYE Stores on the east coast and also released a special Mistakes: Unplugged EP, available with purchase of the actual album while attending an in-store performance.
