2025 Dearborn Heights mayoral election
The 2025 Dearborn Heights mayoral election took place on November 4, 2025, following a primary on August 5, 2025. Incumbent Mayor Bill Bazzi was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia, and is not seeking re-election. In the primary election, City Council President Mo Baydoun placed first, winning 58 percent of the vote. He advanced to the general election with City Councilwoman Denise Malinowski-Maxwell, who placed second with 27 percent of the vote.
On October 8, 2025, Bazzi officially resigned from office after he was confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia, and Baydoun, who was the city council president, became the acting mayor. Baydoun ultimately won the election, securing 68% of the popular vote.
