2016–17 Boa Vista Island League

The 2016-17 Boa Vista Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Its started on 13 January and finished early on 30 April 2017. The tournament was organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol da Boa Vista, ARFBV). Sport Sal Rei Club won the 10th title, it was also the club's second straight, Sal Rei qualified into the 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championships and placed in Group C.

Académica Operária again was the defending team of the title. A total of 8 clubs participated in the competition and 157 goals were scored, a goal more than last season.

Overview

Sal Rei scored the most number of goals of the season numbering 30, second was Onze Estrelas who scored 27 and third was 5th placed Africa show with 25. Estância Baixo conceded the most with 39, second was Africa Show with 27 andJuventude do Norte with 26.

Unlike others, like Santo Antão South in 2016, its round matches were out of order, the second part matches were not the same.

Sal Rei scored the most number of goals of the season numbering 35, second was Onze Estrelas who scored 27 again and third was 5th placed Africa show with 25. Estância Baixo conceded the most with 39, second was Africa Show with 27 andJuventude do Norte with 26. Like the Maio Premier Division, the top three positions were the same as the previous seasons.

Sal Rei took the number one position at the first week and finished it at the end of the season, dominant most of the season, Onze Estrelas had the number one position at the 3rd round and had it for five rounds.

The championship had a week off in third week of February and the second week of March due to the regional cup competitions.
