2015–16 CS Mindelense season

The 2015–16 CS Mindelense season were in the island and top division of Cape Verdean football. The club won the island's 48th title, a record of all the island titles won by any club in Cape Verde. As they were the 2015 national league winners, they would participate and claim the nation's 11th title.

The club scored a total of 42 goals, about one fifth last season. Of which 24 was scored in the São Vicente League which was a third less and 18 in the national championships, 11 in the regular season and 7 in the playoffs. Their total points was 30 for the island and 11 in the national championships totalling 41.

Mindelense's regional championship titles covers more than 61% of the 78 regional titles.

São Vicente Island League

The 2016 season was third place in weeks 1 and 3, in week 2, Mindelense was fourth, the remainder was at the number one spot Mindelense won a record breaking 48th title in the island. The club scored 30 goals.

Mindelense finished with 9 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses, every loss was during the final two weeks of the championships.

The first match of the season ended in a draw with Falcões do Norte with a goal apiece. The next three matches ended in victory including Farense, Batuque and Salamansa, the latter ended with Mindelense scoring five goals. The week 5 match with Accadémica ended in a scoreless draw. Week 6 was victorious as they scored 3-0 over Amarante. The seventh week match with Derby ended in a goal draw. Mindelense won the next five matches until week 13 when the remaining two matches ended in a loss, first to Amarante then to Derby.

Thus their 34 matches left without losing was finished on April 16 after losing to Amarante 2-0 at week 15, Mindelense's first loss in more than two years and became the longest of any of the regional championships in the country and also for matches won away being 13. Mindelense had 18 home matches without any loss, their next and recent home loss at home was 0-1 to Derby on April 24 in the final week of the season, their first lost at home sinceJanuary 12, 2014 to Amarante.

Results summary

São Vicente Cup

Mindelense advanced all the way to the cup finals. Where the club lost the super cup final match to Salamansa from the north of the island. Mindelense did not score a single goal.

São Vicente Super Cup

The regional super cup took place earlier on October 16, 2015. As regional champion, the club challenged Salamansa, Mindelense defeated Salamansa to win their second consecutive super cup making it a total of four.

Cape Verdean National League

Even though as they were the 2015 national winners, as they won an island title, the club achieved entry and would go ahead to claim the country's 11th title.

Again for the third time, the club would play its matches in Group B. The club was first placed like last season and had three wins and two draws. One was at the first week with Académica Porto North and another at the third week with Académico 83 from Maio. The final match was played with Sal's Académico of Sal Airport and advanced into the semis.

Mindelense will not participate in the CAF Champions League in 2017.

Playoffs

The club advanced into the playoffs, in the semis, Mindelense challenged Varandinha for the first time, Mindelense won all two matches, the final challenge was against Académica do Porto Novo second time in the national ginals, Mindelense lost the first, Mindelense won the second as Djinkely scored at the 38th minute in Porto Novo. As the goal totals were a goal apiece, Mindelense won the penalty shootout 4-5 and claimed their 11th national title
