Notable events
- May: Clyde are relegated to the Scottish Second Division and due to the club's financial crisis and loss of revenue due to relegation, a statement was issued stating that all players contracts would be reviewed or ended to allow the club to readjust in the Second Division.
- June: Peter Cherrie, David Hutton, Neil McGregor, Chris Higgins, Stephen Connolly, David McGowan, Jordan Murch, Grégory Tadé, Marvyn Wilson, Scott Gemmill, Craig O'Reilly, Gary McSwegan and Robbie Winters, all of whom are out of contract, are released by the club as they are not in a financial position to offer them new deals. Mark Brown, Billy Gibson, Alan Lithgow, Stuart Kettlewell, Roddy MacLennan, Ruari MacLennan, Willie McLaren, Alan Trouten, Ricky Waddell, Pat Clarke, Marc McCusker and Dave McKay, all of whom are under contract until May 2010, are all released after having their contracts terminated.
- July: Neil Watt is appointed to the board as director of football. John Brown makes his first seven signings of the summer; defenders Ally Park and Scott Gair, released from Hibernian and St. Mirren respectively and midfielders Conn Boyle from Ayr United, Mark Casey who was without a club, and Paul Stewart, who began his career at Clyde, signed from East Fife. Maryhill strike duo Alan McFadden and Willie Sawyers complete the septet. Former Bully Wee youth Robert Halliday also joins the club, along with midfielders Jamie Doyle from Glenafton Athletic and 17 year old Jonathon Fisher from Hearts. Another 7 signings are made to boost the squad ahead of the season's opener against Stenhousemuir. Goalkeeper Calum Reidford joins from Dunfermline Athletic and former Falkirk midfielder Jay Lang both sign one year deals, along with Darren Walker and Jordan Allan, who were promoted from the youth set up. Ex-Dumbarton striker Paul McLeod signs a one-month contract, along with Alan Lithgow and Dave McKay, both of whom had their contracts previously terminated. Connor Cassidy is the latest player to step up from the youth team, signing a one year professional contract.
