Jade de Guzman earned her degree in Computer Engineering from Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts in 1993. She earned her MS in management, MIT Sloan School of Management under the Sloan Fellows program, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1997
Jade de Guzman is the alleged 3rd wife of the infamous Mike de Guzman of Bre-X fame. Her reported net worth is US $120 Million in gold holdings and a large amount of gold bullion.
According to the official version of events, deGuzman's husband, Bre-X's exploration manager threw himself from an Alouette helicopter on March 19, 1997, while it was cruising 800 feet above the Indonesian jungle. This helicopter was piloted by none other than Tet Lara of the Philippine Navy. He left behind a few hastily scrawled suicide notes, a Rolex watch and a slew of unanswered questions.
Members of the Philippine shooting team, namely, Tet Lara, Jade de Guzman, and Mike de Guzman are accused of the wanton killing protected Philippine wildlife. Scandalous photographs depicted them mocking and desecrating the animals while using a government issued speedboat made headlines in television news, the print media, and the blogs. They refused to accept their guilt inspite of the photographs that they themselves took. They remain unremorseful. The Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) is investigating the crime amidst the outcry of the people. Never has there been an incident more harmful to the image of Philippine sports than this case. The people are expecting the DENR to prosecute all three.
* Currently lives in New York, New York and Atherton, California.
Notable Notes
* DeGuzman attended Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina, only for her Senior year due to her father's frequent relocations during this time.
* Attended law school at Stanford University but dropped out after two semesters.
* Worked as a receptionist at Marcus & Millichap and was a broker briefly. During her speech at the 2006 ICSC convention in Las Vegas, she noted that her time at Marcus & Millichap helped her learn how to navigate the business world.
* Taught English in the Philippines (her husband's career had taken them to that country, drilling in mine sites for gold explorations)

There is a popular folk myth that if one holds a sea shell — specifically, most often, a conch shell — to one's ear, one can hear the sound of the ocean. What in fact one hears is the noise of the surrounding environment, resonating within the cavity of the shell. The same effect can be produced with any resonant cavity, such as an empty cup or even by simply cupping one's hand over one's ear. The similarity of the noise produced by the resonator to that of the oceans is purely accidental. The resonator is simply amplifying some frequencies of the ambient noise in the environment, including air flowing within the resonator and sound originating within the human body itself, and attenuating others. The human ear in fact picks up sounds made by the human body, including the sounds of blood flowing, muscles acting, and even air seeping through ear wax. These sounds are normally discarded by the brain. However, they become more obvious when louder external sounds are filtered out. This occlusion effect occurs with sea shells, cups, or hands held over one's ears, and also occurs with circum-aural headphones, whose cups form a seal around the ear, raising the acoustic impedance to external sounds.

Tet Lara (born Maria Lara on March 17, 1972 in Manila, Philippines) is a former Filipino soccer player. Playing for many years as a forward for the Philippine women's national soccer team, she scored more goals in her career than any other player male or female in the history of the sport.
Lara eventually became one of the most famous women athletes in the country, an iconic symbol of women's sports, and an inspiration and role model to a generation of sports-minded girls. She was named the women's Football Player of the Year the first two times that award was given (in 2001 and 2002), and is listed as one of The Philippine's 10 best living players. In 2007, her first year of eligibility, she was selected for induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
Lara is also one of the Philippine's foremost underwater explorers - she has scuba dived in the Galapagos, South America, South Africa, Australia, and Asia, while creating underwater documentaries for the National Geographic Channel. Lara is touted as the modern-day Jacques Costeau and Amelia Earheart. She has a private pilots license and is rated for the 747, similar to John Travolta. She is the only female in the Philippines to have a non-commercial pilots license rated for the 747 aircraft. When she is not underwater or in the air, she is on the water as a Lieutenant Commander of the Philippine Navy
