International Practical Shooting Confederation Sri Lanka (commonly known as IPSC Sri Lanka) is the national governing body for practical shooting sports in Sri Lanka. It operates under the auspices of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) and functions under the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka, the recognised national authority for shooting sports in the country.
IPSC Sri Lanka is responsible for the promotion, regulation, and development of practical shooting disciplines in Sri Lanka in accordance with IPSC international rules, national regulations, and safety standards.
Background
Practical shooting in Sri Lanka developed as an organised sport through affiliation with the International Practical Shooting Confederation, which was founded in 1976. IPSC Sri Lanka serves as the official IPSC regional body for Sri Lanka and operates within the regulatory framework of the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka.
Objectives
The objectives of IPSC Sri Lanka include:
• Promoting practical shooting as a recognised sport in Sri Lanka
• Ensuring compliance with IPSC rules and national regulations
• Maintaining high standards of safety and sportsmanship
• Organising competitions, training programmes, and officiating development
• Developing athletes for participation in regional and international IPSC events
Activities
IPSC Sri Lanka oversees:
• IPSC-sanctioned national and club-level competitions
• Training and certification of Range Officers and match officials
• Shooter development across recognised IPSC divisions
• Selection and endorsement of Sri Lankan teams for international competitions
Competitions are conducted in line with IPSC rules and the principle of Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas (Accuracy, Power, Speed).
Governance
IPSC Sri Lanka is administered by an executive committee elected in accordance with its constitution and IPSC statutes.

Affiliation
IPSC Sri Lanka is the officially recognised IPSC regional body for Sri Lanka and maintains active affiliation with the International Practical Shooting Confederation. Through its recognition under the National Rifle Association of Sri Lanka, it conducts its activities in compliance with applicable national laws governing shooting sports
