The KIS Sivar was a fictional Kilrathi warship in the Wing Commander game series. Its first appearance was in Wing Commander: Secret Missions 1 (1990).
Historical Background
The KIS Sivar was the class leader of the newest version of the Sivar-class dreadnoughts in 2654. In fact, it was the only known ship of its class. The vessel was deployed on the front lines of the Kilrathi War by the Kilrathi Empire in 2654, a short time after the Terran Confederation conquered the Vega Sector. Shortly after deployment, the vessel was chosen to house the Kilrathi Empire's new Graviton Weapon, a device capable of annihilating entire colonies by increasing the gravitational force of any planet by 137 times. The weapon was developed at a planet called Warhammer 12, which was the Kilrathi's main research planet in the Vega Sector. When the weapon was finished, the Sivar used it to destroy the planet to hide the evidence of the Empire's work, resulting in the first successful test of the device. Later, Kalralahr Gilkarg nar Kiranka of the Kilrathi Fleet took command of the Sivar and led a massive fleet to attack Goddard, a human colony in the Epsilon Sector. The attack was a huge victory for the Empire, for all 250,000 colonists living on Goddard were killed within minutes, and no other life forms were spared. Entire cities were left in ruins. Following this victory, the Sivar retreated to Kilrathi space to avoid intervention from the Terran Confederation.
Unfortunately for the Kilrathi, the atrocity on Goddard only encouraged the humans to send in the TCS Tiger's Claw, the carrier that conquered the Vega Sector, to penetrate Kilrathi space in order to track down the Sivar Fleet. This covert operation was codenamed Operation: Thor's Hammer, and in it, the Tiger's Claw and her allies assaulted the Sivars escorts wherever they turned up. Over the course of several weeks, Christopher Blair and his fellow pilots destroyed several cruisers, destroyers, and convoys supporting the Sivar, and they even destroyed a space depot. While in the Jotunheim System, Blair and the Tiger's Claw were almost lured into a trap by the TCS Gwenhyvar, a captured Exeter-class Destroyer that the Kilrathi were using to trap unsuspecting vessels. Blair discovered this trap and destroyed the vessel. Blair and his friend, James Taggart, spotted the Sivar in the Bifrost System, but it was too powerful for them to engage. Despite this, the Tiger's Claw continued its pursuit.
Finally, the KIS Sivar was cornered in the Vigird System, and Blair and Joseph "Knight" Khumalo were sent out to finish it off. It was low on supplies and escorts, so it was now or never. The two pilots succeeded in destroying the vessel, as well as the Graviton Weapon that destroyed Goddard. The TCS Tiger's Claw and its pilots then fled to human space before the enemy could retaliate.

Aftermath
The consequences for the loss of the KIS Sivar were severe for the Kilrathi. The technical data on the Sivar-class Dreadnought and the Graviton Weapon were lost forever, thereby denying the Kilrathi another chance to wipe out humanity quickly. Kalralahr Gilkarg nar Kiranka was executed by his father, the Emperor, as punishment for his failure to destroy humanity. His surviving son, Thrakhath nar Kiranka, became the next heir of Kilrah afterwards, continuing the brutality of leadership under the nar Kiranka clan.

Classes
Class is the most important aspect of the MUD. On Dragon Swords MUD you choose 3 classes. Your primary, your dual, and your triple. Primary is chosen in character creation, and you gain all skills for this class. These will be your most powerful abilities, and most classes have around 30-50 prime abilities between level 1-100, and then 1 ability every 10-50 levels in the higher ranges.
At level 100, you must choose a second class. This is not optional. You get only half of your second class skills.
At level 200, this is repeated, with a third class.
The available classes are:
*Mage Your typical spell caster with the ability to enchant weaponry.
*Warrior Your typical physical warrior.
*Thief A sneaky thief, with the ability to steal and poison.
*Cleric The strongest healer in the realm.
*Knight A righteous fighter, with some clerical abilities.
*Bard A physically strong mixture of a warrior, thief, and mage. Ability to enchant armor.
*Sage A spellcaster with heavy emphasis on the creation and use of scrolls and spellbooks.
*Druid A physically strong spellcaster with emphasis on the creation and use of potions and casks.
*Priest A physically strong cleric.
*Necromancer A mage of the dark arts, with the ability to summon minions.
*Monk A holy fighter with the ability to meditate, heal and use stances.
*Ranger A strong fighter with the ability to track and use traps.
*Assassin A thief-like warrior with the ability to instantly critical hit (kill) opponents.
*Psionist A strong mental mage.
----
Levelling
The aim of the game is to have as strong a character as possible (whilst also making friends (and enemies!)). This is achieved through levelling, which in turn is achieved through gaining experience points.
Experience points are gained through killing creatures across the realm. As you get stronger, you can kill tougher beasts. A combination of skills and spells, equipment, and statistics determine your strength.
Levels can also be purchased by questing.
----
Questing
There is a vast array of quests across the MUD, from your basic fetch me a sword, to the complex, hours long area quests that require large groups of high level players. Quests have two purposes.
# Equipment - Which helps you become stronger.
# Quest Points - Which can be exchanged for mana, health points, special options - and levels.
----
World
Dragon Swords MUD consists of a user-created world, where many mortals have featured as builders. There are currently around 1000 stock (original) zones that belonged to DIKU, and around 15,000 rooms that are unique to Dragon Swords.
----
Staff
Dragon Swords MUD is run by a team of dedicated people called immortals. These are the staff who take care of the behind the scenes work - which includes coding, building, writing, promotion and of course, policing the mud. Immortals also run fun things like trivia, special battles, quests and challenges, as well as helping you with any problems you might incur.
The team of coders is extremely experienced, ensuring that any bugs are quickly fixed, and that new content is constantly being added.
