Launched in June 2008, Music Channel boasted a wide range of successes in a very competitive market. Starting January 1, 2010, Romanian music TV station, Music Channel, has opened two new branches in Hungary: Music Channel and H!T Music Channel. In less than two years since the launch in Romania, Music Channel has achieved the performance to be broadcasted across borders, to organize the biggest event in local music, Romanian Music Awards, and to run a record number of videos.
The newest music television station noted a record number of videos runs: over 900 videos every month, while the market average is 200 videos on the same period. Music Channel has also registered spectacular growth in terms of audience: though in the first month of broadcasting Music Channel had 23,000 unique viewers daily, in November 2009 audience rose five-fold increase, with 150,000 unique viewers per day.
Since the beginning, Music Channel has positioned itself as a leader. Half a year after its launch, on December 7, 2008 it succeded a double record: the largest number of viewers and the status of Market Leader. Another performance achieved is organizing the most important event in the local music industry, Romanian Music Awards, for the first time under the aegis of Music Channel in 2008. In time, the most important Romanian artists have preferred to launch their exclusive videos on Music Channel.
Music Channel covers all genres of music and also has specialized charts, which makes it more than a simple music TV station: Music Channel is now an important player in the Romanian and Hungarian music industry.

Fight the Pipe is an organisation based in Wales and England that opposes the construction of a 197-mile natural gas pipeline by National Grid. The pipeline is intended to run from Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire to Tirley in Gloucestershire, through two national parks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The gas is to be imported from Qatar. Many are concerned at the experimental nature of the pipeline and the apparently glib attitude of National Grid to safety and environmental concerns. At Trebanos, only concerted local pressure prevented the company blasting near residential land that was riddled with old mine workings, prompting fears of a repeat of a landslide that engulfed a Welsh school in the 1950s. Others are unhappy at how the planning process was subverted. When permission was refused at local level, and then by the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff, National Grid were forced to get a diktat from the British government at Westminster.
A protest camp was established at Penpont, near the town of Brecon, in the autumn of 2006, along the pipeline route. The camp was evicted in June 2007, and some protestors were charged with offences related to the occupation.
