Erick Ambtman is a Senior Economist, businessman and President of the Alberta Liberal Party. His expertise is in strategic planning, social, economic & demographic forecasting & analysis, and policy analysis. Ambtman is also associated with philanthropic and charitable causes.
Education
Erick Ambtman was born in Edmonton, Alberta March 2nd 1978, but spent his formative years in Lac La Biche, St. Paul, AB and Winnipeg. His mother is from Trinidad and his Dad is from Holland, making him a first generation Canadian.
He received his in political science and economics at University of Manitoba then went on to complete a master’s degree in economic development from the London School of Economics.
Business background
After graduating he started looking for work in Alberta and in the same week he was offered two jobs. One was with the Government of Canada, as an economist, and the other was as the program coordinator of the Alberta Native Friendship Centres Association. He chose the road less traveled and in his role went to the 20 Friendship Centres across Alberta, from High Level to Pincher Creek.
Along the way, he developed a knack for working people through the difficult situations their Centres were facing. Sometimes it was financial, sometimes it was a governance issue; there was always a great deal of uncertainty. Centres faced with these challenges started handing management responsibilities to him and he became the executive director of Centres in Rocky Mountain House, Red Deer, Calgary and Fort McMurray. Here he discovered firsthand how to make difficult decisions, to deal with dissenters and eventually bring them on board.
Erick went on to do a work term in South Africa at a social housing association, assisting in the development of the organization’s business plan, working with tenants on community building initiatives and helping to establish a tenant advisory board. He returned from South Africa and joined the City of Edmonton as a Strategic Planner. Currently, he work as Edmonton’s senior economist where he studies the local economy, and help form policy.
Community Involvement
When Erick returned from South Africa he began to look for opportunities to use what he knew and what he had learned. He joined the board of Change for Children, was elected treasurer, and the following year became president. That year, the organization exceeded 1 million dollars in revenue for the first time.
Political involvement
Erick has been very active in Alberta Provincial politics. He has been:
* Vice President Edmonton Millcreek Constituency
* Edmonton Regional Chair
* On the ALP executive
* Policy Convention organizing committee member

The 2009 UCLA throat slashing was an attack on a student at the University of California, Los Angeles. The Associated Press reports that "students and faculty at UCLA are stunned following a horrific attack in a campus chemistry lab in which a male student allegedly slashed the throat of a female student." Damon Thompson of the country of Belize was arrested as a suspect on suspicion of attempted murder.
This is notable because it was reported worldwide in multiple reliable sources.
The UCLA community was shocked because of this, where a student was stabbed multiple times, including in the neck, during a chemistry lab class. Lab classes were canceled the next day and counselors were available for students.
NBC reports that his second cousin, Akilah Williams, "said she was skeptical that Thompson was capable of the attack"<ref name="msnbc" />

Pilgrim Gardens is a major shopping center in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania in Upper Darby Township. One of the oldest area shopping centers, it was built in stages from 1951 to 1955. A public road runs between the shopping center and its main parking lot, but it has metered parking at store level. The plaza received minor remodels in 1974 and 1994. In 2004, one portion of the center was acquired by UK-based Centro Watt (now Centro Properties Group) in a large purchase of US shopping centers. The rest is owned by local management company National Realty Corp (NRC).

Smallest Transforming Transformers is a toy line released in Japan between 2003 and 2004 by Takara. It is a line of randomly packaged micro sized Transformers figures based on the original toy line. The line is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Worlds Smallest Transformers (WST).
Even though a box has a certain figure on it, all Smallest Transformers are packaged randomly, and which toy it contains cannot be determined until the package is opened. In addition, each wave of releases has a "chase figure", which is packaged in a ratio of one per case of 24 or 48 toys.
