On Path to Liberation is an upcoming film by Suhir Ponncchamy. The film is about a Spiritual seeker and her journey to find liberation. It stars Marie-Therese Bjornerud, Pedapati Venkata Ramana Murthy, Janna Epstein and features many other talented artists.
Filmed on location near Visakapatnam and New York City.
While films that are under budgeted tend to get major workflow hindrances this team worked hard to overcome all the difficulties to bring the film as swiftly as a studio produced endeavor.
In August 2013, during the filming in Visakapatnam, there were standstill demonstrations and agitations in Andra Pradesh. This removed the possibility of many locals from working on the set. All the actors were transported and housed near the location. It is only due to the selfless work of all the actors who pitched in as production assistants that this film is able to come out.
Marie-Therese Bjornerud delivers a role in the manner of a seasoned thespian. While there were huge limitations in terms of local conditions such as food and unfamiliar surroundings, she managed to pull off the role seamlessly as if she had the support required to be in character throughout the whole production.
Janna Epstein joined the project on its second schedule and served as the perfect clay for the director to present as fine sculpture.
Pedapati Venkata Ramana Murthy, also known as Navarasa Murthy, who teaches the aspiring actors in Visakapatnam, took the role of a transforming character in the film. And he was very instrumental in the completion of this project during the social unrest that had plagued the filming region during the first schedule.
Nanda Nayar, who was a noted ad film creator during his days in Chennai, India and now a music teacher in Edison, New Jersey scored the music for the film. He was also very influential in the editing of the praise worthy effort by the director, Suhir Ponncchamy who refuses to say much about him as he expects the film to do the talking
Discussion about the technical details of the film is simply not permitted as the director says, ‘Nothing matters except the story and the performances of cast and crew.’ And he asks for the public to wait for further details. He hopes to be able to premiere the film by January 14th and, if not, February 12th.
