Dalian Media conscience --- Lu Renzi
By Chu Baylor
I do not know Lu Renzi, and even I do not know that he worked in Which the media, but in Dalian PX "incident", I saw the name, seen by many as City of Heroes, I smiled, a hero may be a bit bigger, but the point is that many of Media people can not do that, then the media conscience.
The world to tell the truth a lot, but really not many people who say the truth, this sentence that understand? Today's media in a strong bureaucratic system already refining hypotheses on the truth, every day we look at the city's newspapers, not hurt too many things are not asylum for the aged, as Lu Renzi said, "You can not adopt the newspapers," Oh, ah, if more than cattle. Do you know someone's in today's media is open do? I read some time ago written by Mr. Wu Si "hidden order" to see speed "is being taken advantage of the people" can not help but laugh when he also wrote an article to respond to the strong bureaucratic system, our media has become the spokesman for a group of people, a lot of true information had long been erased filtered and was sounding name of "harmony", I was lost in the analysis during the late Ming Jiang Shan said: The world is not without reason love, no hate for no reason. When a force large enough to affect the whole community foundation, it may a little straw, a building will be crushed.
Renzi Lu's media with the same battle in the city every day every place, but can see the light of events that can not say it written out, not much, because everyone knows the unspoken rules behind it, and perhaps have their own unique LU Renzi place, but he stood up, could tell what they know. This is a kind of conscience and courage. More media people might also want to do this, but in the unspoken rules of the environment, they can not do, no one blame them, this is a cruel reality. In 2004 I was a current affairs version of Wandering to do a moderator, because some events during the period, Tianya four editions by the competent bodies to close down the rectification, rectifying and then hang up the opening of the community when editing these sections as a moderator, and then submitted after the edition of Politics Edition Master real-name system, I rejected this request, I do not want to deal with some kind of force, I am more afraid that someday ourselves into some kind of incident can not withdraw that affect their own real life, so I retreated. When the emerging provinces of the information, even the most basic article I lazy to write, because my life completely irrelevant, my wife is strongly opposed to me to write this kind of article, Oh, the conscience of the thing, sometimes will continue to be an invisible dog eat, even in our hearts that he had continued to struggle.
Today, we have become accustomed to a harmonious society under the various well-being of life, and numbness in various brain can be disabled and the mentally handicapped to make decisions, every city in the happiness of the song and dance pavilion breathe in an environment, which also put sewer pipe There are so many weak voice, the only people feel a little refreshing that in this most harmonious cities, there is a little bit known as the voice of conscience, in the city over the issue, so we can see a little bit of hope, For the media conscience of hope.
Not to say, the top bar, the hope that more people know, Dalian, but also heard a long-hoped-voice.

Note : Not to be confused with Bryan Wong Lok Kiang
Bryan Wong Yuan Lee () is a Singaporean actor of MediaCorp. He was first discovered through the popularity-cum-acting contest Star Idol, held in 2005, where many had recognized him as the hunk, most muscular and most handsome.
Before competition
Bryan was an air steward with Singapore airlines before he joined Star Idol, the acting competition held at the end of 2005 and finishing in early 2006. He had attended Temasek Info Tech School, earning a diploma in Information Technology. Bryan had wanted to become an actor at the age of eight and was often described as fun-loving, diligent and analytical.
Star Idol
Bryan entered the Top 8 with other contestants like Kang Cheng Xi, Leo Lam, Lincoln Khoo, and Jacqueline Sue, and had to star in the competition television series Who Is It?, where on each episode one contestant goes missing till there is one left (the contestant with the least amount of votes goes missing and the last one is the winner and Star Idol 2005/06).
After the first episode where the first female, Lilian, was booted out, Bryan was next. However, a revival round brought him back to the competition, surpassing eliminated Lilian, Leann and Lincoln. Bryan joined Jacqueline, Alicia Neo, Cheng Xi and Leo as they carried on the competition.
As Bryan stayed on in the competition, his acting skills became better, and on the finals against Leo Lam, Bryan succeeded in being the better actor and took the crown as the first Star Idol, garnering 61% of the overall votes. (He had not had many votes during the start and it was announced halfway through the finals, probably urging Bryan's fans to vote more.)
Star Idol finals
During the finals, Bryan was the only contestant to strip to his underwear in front of national television during a fight against a hooligan. This was on Part 1. In a more detailed way, Part 1 shows Bryan playing as a man auditioning to become an actor. He is chosen to play a role where his wife is kidnapped by the leader of the underworld. Bryan points his gun at him, and the leader (played by Adam Chen), sends for his henchmen to beat him up. They strip him nearly naked until Bryan stops them by fighting them, left with his jeans and underwear. Some said that the underwear was translucent. When the leader's henchmen are all out of energy, the leader takes off his shirt and battles Bryan. (This scene is said to be the most sexual one in the whole competition because two 'hunky and muscular guys' are wrestling.)
On Part 2, Bryan played a lover alongside Felicia Chin who talks about their romance while singer Kelvin Tan performs.
On Part 3, Bryan has to compete against Leo in a dance, where many agreed that Bryan was more stiff that Leo (Leo was thinner but was less muscular).
Criticism
There have been some criticism towards Bryan on how he uses his looks and body to appeal to the audience. This was felt unfair towards his rival contestant Leo Lam, who was not as muscular as Bryan. Leo had once mentioned that if he could garner more votes, he would go to the gym and get a six pack now, in which Bryan had. Another contestant, Kang Cheng Xi, was also given a stripping scene where he was required to wear cartoonish red boxers. The judges mentioned that Cheng Xi was not very muscular, and somewhere later, he was eliminated.
After competition
Many months after the competition, Bryan appeared in his first role - it was to many not considered as a supporting role, and a rather minor role at that. Nevertheless, his appearance in An Enchanted Life, a drama, surprised many. Bryan also appeared in minor roles of several dramas - Happily Ever After, Kinship and Metamorphosis. He has been compared to the 2nd runner up of Star Idol, Kang Cheng Xi, who also has a 2-year contract with the television station Mediacorp. Cheng Xi has been offered several roles that are more significant than those of Bryan's.
It is rumored that Bryan Wang had decided not to renew his contract, having been disappointed by the fact that he was not offered any lead roles in spite of being Star Idol champion. (sourced from an interview with The New Paper sometime between February and March 2008)

Rhys Chinchen is a 21 year old from Australia.
THERE may be several reasons why an exceptionally bright child is underachieving, but discrimination should not be one of them.
In a warning to teachers with problem children, a tribunal has found that a gifted child with the learning disability motor dyspraxiawas discriminated against at Seaforth Public School in 1999 and has awarded him $15,000 compensation.
The case raised questions about how such students could best be educated and noted that the school failed to seek advice in regards to the child when he was in years 5 and 6.
The Administrative Decisions Tribunal found last Thursday that Rhys Chinchen, now 17, was denied access to support for his disability, unlawfully excluded from an extension class for gifted children and "victimised" due to the withdrawal of a home-support plan.
Six of the 10 allegations of discrimination by his parents, Noel and Christine Chinchen, were dismissed.
A NSW Department of Education spokesman, Mark Davis, said the department "will look at appealing".
Rhys's full-scale IQ was within the "very superior" range but his achievements at school did not reflect this. Like many learning-disabled children, his abilities varied - he produced little written work in class and group activities but gave excellent oral presentations and his home assignments were exceptional.
His teacher, Bonita Hawkes, concluded that Rhys was "lazy and unmotivated".
"By forming this conclusion within the first few weeks of teaching Rhys, she appears to have closed her mind to the possibility that Rhys's apparent difficulty with completing tasks in class (other than maths) was attributable to some other cause," the tribunal said.
"The tragedy of the case is that for all of 1999 the school overlooked the need to have Rhys assessed by the school counsellor. Had it done so, the school would have been able to obtain expert assistance at a much earlier stage and to address Rhys's difficulties in a more informed manner."
Mr and Mrs Chinchen sued the NSW Department of Education and Training after an unsatisfactory response.
Yesterday, Mr Chinchen told the Herald he was "thrilled" by the "landmark decision".
"It makes it very clear that it's not enough for teachers or principals to say that they were doing their best," Mr Chinchen said.
"Even if they think they're doing the right thing, if they don't get an appropriate assessment of that child, then they may well be acting unlawfully.
"So ignorance of a diagnosed disability is not an excuse."
