(born May 6, 1978) is a Norwegian filmmaker.
He has won 4 awards out of the 4 films he submitted to International Film Festival, all within the category of short movies and music videos. He is without a doubt one of Trondheim's rising stars.
Kailasanathan developed an interest in movies at the age of 8, when his father bought his first video camera. At that time, he used the camera to record his brothers' and his sister's birthday parties.
While a middle school student, Kailasanathan made a friend who had lots of R-rated movies on tape. He brought the movies home and took a long break from school watching them.
Later he got the chance to film at parties held by friends of his family. At these occasions he was strongly criticised for the technique he used, zooming very close up to people and recording situations where most people would have preferred not being filmed.
He is currently dedicating himself to a full-length romantic movie due to come out in 2008. He is writing the manuscript with his friend Anders Lindqvist, author of the novel [http://www.cappelen.no/main/Katalog.aspx?f9332&ISBN9788202255237 P.A. Pillays magiske sommer.]
