The Elite Seven is an unofficial reference to seven private, boys only high schools in South Africa, some of which admit girls in the VI Form.
The group consists of the oldest and most expensive schools in the country, where economic and social barriers mean that they are attended by predominantly elite families' sons.
It was coined in the 1970s as a reference by outsiders of the schools. It is comparable to the The Ten Schools Admissions Organization, the Eton Group and the Rugby Group.
Two schools, Hilton College and Michaelhouse are full boarding schools whilst the rest offer boarding and day schooling. All the schools except Diocesan College write the Independent Examinations Board exams.
The oldest member school is Diocesan College which was founded in 1849, it is followed by in 1855, Hilton College in 1872, Michaelhouse in 1896, in 1898, Kearsney College in 1921 and St Stithians College in 1953.

Henry Espera is a Filipino martial artist. He is the founder of Rapido Realismo Kali and head of the Luneta Rapido Realismo Kali Group.
Espera hails from the Bicol Region in the Philippines, the fourth of 13 children to Ramon Espera and Encarnacion Evasco.
Grandmaster Henry Espera owes his brand of Filipino martial arts to his mentors, most notable of whom are Grandmaster Antonio Ilustrisimo of Kali Ilustrisimo, Master Andrew "Andy" Abrian of Orabes Heneral Eskrima, and Master Juan of Automatic Arnis.
Integrating Kali, Arnis and Escrima empty hand movements, boxing (suntukan / panantukan), trapping (tapik-patibungan), kicking (sipaan or tadyakan), Filipino grappling and wrestling (buno/Dumog) with his own style of tactical footwork, he created Rapido Realismo Kali in 1997.
At present, the system is being taught in multiple locations in the Philippines, as well as in other countries.

Formed in 1979 by Chris Adams and Dave Spathaky, The Amazing Mendezies were an almost legendary comedy double act who performed worldwide. They were one of the seminal acts who re-established busking in the renovated Covent Garden in the early 1980s.
Their circus skills show was based, in the format of many traditional double acts, on each of them in turn disrupting and upstaging the attempts of the other to perform.
At an early stage they travelled to San Francisco and encountered the emerging busking scene there and also travelled around Europe busking which transformed their style and notably forced them to cut much of the verbal dialogue from their act.
They played at a great many outdoor festivals such as Glastonbury Festival and the Albion Fairs in East Anglia and within a few years had become popular on the emerging alternative comedy circuit in London and in Europe on the summer Festivals circuit. For several years they performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the street and from there were invited to perform at the 'Last Laugh' cabaret venue in Melbourne Australia and on a TV special, Celebration with Emma Thompson and Gary Wilmot.
Dave went on to form Ra-Ra Zoo and Chris worked in several other double acts. They disbanded in 1983 in Edinburgh after their most financially successful day ever busking and the first time they had ever been asked for an encore after a street show.
