Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui Road (نثار احمد صدیقی روڈ), formerly known as Airport Road, is a major municipal thoroughfare located in Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan. The road connects the central city transportation networks to the Sukkur Airport. In December 2020, it was officially renamed by the Sukkur Municipal Corporation to honor the lifelong educational and public services of the late Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, a prominent civil servant and the founding Vice-Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University.
Kogane (September 24, 1909 – ?) was born in Tokyo, Japan. She became a maiko in Tokyo at a young age and continued to work as a geisha in Atami after the age of 40. Even in her nineties, she continued to perform, play the shamisen and sing traditional songs.
Kogane's real name is Kayoko Kaburagi.As a child, Kogane relied on her sister-in-law, who ran a okiya in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, for support.At the same time, she learned dance, shamisen and drums from her sister-in-law. Influenced by her sister-in-law, who was also a geisha, Kogane entered her sister-in-law's okiya after graduating from elementary school and became a maiko.Just as she was about to become a geisha, World War II broke out, she almost gave up her profession. During the war, she wanted to retire from geisha and marry her lover, but he was sent to fight in Sumatra by the Japanese government and never returned. Afterward, Kogane studied music and dance during the day and performed at evening banquets to support herself. Through hard work, she became a popular geisha. After turning 40, Kogane worked in Atami, in 2007 she continued to perform, occasionally appearing in the resort town of Atami near Tokyo to play the shamisen and sing traditional Japanese songs. In addition, Kogane continued to train, taking four shamisen lessons every month. Kogane said she had never been sick, and even in her old age, she could walk and climb stairs without a cane. She loved performing, owned many kimonos, was proud of her profession. On her 98th birthday in 2007, Kogane's photo appeared in several Japanese newspapers and attracted international media attention. She was the oldest geisha still performing in Japan at that time.For her contributions to art and culture, she was awarded the title of "Living National Treasure" of Atami City.When Kogane turned 100, she published her autobiography, recounting her life as a geisha.
