Kadic Junior High School (also referred to as Kadic Academy or Kadic Junior High) is a fictional boarding school in a French animated television series Code Lyoko. The principal of this school is and the campus supervisor is Jim Moralés. Xana usually attacks Kadic because the group is studying/living in this place most of the time.
Kadic is visually based on an actual French school, Lycée Lakanal. Lakanal has over 1,200 students, while Kadic has a considrably smaller population.
Kadic's history
According to information studied by Sissi Delmas in the episode "Is Anybody Out There?", Kadic was built in 1905 during the Belle Époque, making the boarding school over a century old. A construction worker named Leon Corbé was killed around this time in a boiler room during the school's construction.
Parts of Kadic
Administrative wing
This wing includes the archives, general office, staff rooms, the infirmary and the principal's office. The staff rooms hold the teachers' lockers, in which confiscated goods are kept.
Boiler rooms
Located in the basement of the Administration building (as well as the gymnasium and Science Building, among other locations), the boiler rooms provide heat for the school, using old-fashioned coal stoves. In the episode "Is Anybody Out There?", Sissi reveals that a man named Leon Corbé was killed in a boiler room in 1905 during the construction of the school.
Cafeteria
The function of this building is to provide food for those attending, working in, or visiting the school. This is the only room in which Rosa Petitjean and Gaston Lagrange have ever been seen.
Courtyard
The courtyard serves as a rest area for students and teachers in-between classes.
Vending Concourses
In another courtyard on the other side of the Administrative Wing from the Schoolyard are two buildings housing vending machines that serve various drinks, such as soup, coffee, or soda. According to the characters in the show, these drinks are less than appetizing in most cases.
Classroom buildings
Most of the classes offered at the school take place in these various buildings. The few that require special accommodations take place in other buildings. In "Rock Bottom," one of the classroom buildings was (albeit incorrectly) placed near the Science Building.
Dormitory building
The dorm rooms make up most of the main building. The girls' dorms are on the lower level and the boys' dorms are on the upper level, though this doesn't seem consistent in every episode. There is a passage to the sewers in the basement near the boiler where Jeremie is often seen running to the factory.
The dorm beds aren't very high, and pillows and blankets are usually brought there by boarding students. Like real-world dormitories, there is a scheduled lights-out time for boarders.
Garden shed
This building contains various tools for tending the grounds. It's off-limits to students and other children, as they could get hurt by all the sharp and/or rusty tools stored inside. More often than not, some students use it as a place to hide, despite the rule.
Gymnasium
This building has facilities for various indoor sports, such as basketball and rock climbing. It is also used for various social events held at the school, such as the dances in the episodes "Final Mix" and "The Key". The gymnasium also doubles as an auditorium as well.
Infirmary
This is where people are treated for various minor injuries and other ailments. Yolande Perraudin is the on-staff nurse. The infirmary isn't very large and can only hold up to a few students at a time. It has an elevated bed (obviously higher than the dormitories' beds) for sleeping or resting. The Lyoko Warriors often use the excuse "I need to go to the infirmary" to get out of class and go to Lyoko, though the only teacher that is not affected by the excuse is Ms. Hertz.
Library
This building contains the school library, and seems to house a modest selection of books. Students come here to study during designated hours. The library can double as a detention room if need be.
Park
The park is basically another recreation area at the school. Students (and some teachers) can relax here when they have no classes to attend or teach. There's a passage to the sewers here.
Recreation facility
The school gets a recreation room in the episode "Wreck Room". Some of the furniture included in the Rec Room are a ping-pong table, a TV, and a refrigerator. Sissi is the Rec Room supervisor.
Science building
This large building is dedicated to various science classes that require special equipment. It has its own generator and is isolated from the sewer system, as well as the rest of the school. Suzanne Hertz and an unnamed male mathematics professor are, so far, the only teachers seen in this particular area.
On one occasion, Xana used the lab as a medium to alter the city's gravity in the episode "Zero Gravity". He required energy from various capacitors throughout the city, namely energy from the science lab. This was undone by the episode's end, however.
Track
The track is used for any sports that require open spaces, such as running and soccer. The P.E. classes are often held here instead of the gym due to Jim's tendency to focus on outdoor sports and physical activities. It was completed in "Cruel Dilemma".
Population
With the exception of some relatives, a few minor characters, and Xana, most characters in the show are either students or staff at Kadic.
Trivia
* shows that Kadic is largely based on a similar school called Lakanal College, which is located in Sceaux, France. That school is further away from the site of the factory (now demolished) than the one in the show is.
* The boarding school in Garage Kids that Jeremie, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi go to does not look the same as the one seen in Code Lyoko, but has the same name. It looks more like an office building than a school in most respects.
* shows that "Kadic" is actually a corruption of Phillip K. Dick, a famous American science-fiction writer. The school's name pays homage to Phillip.
* The school has actually come under direct attack by XANA in several episodes, usually episodes of the first season.
* The school's policy states that all mobile phones are to be switched off during class or they will be immediately confiscated. Some fans and even the schoolchildren of Kadic misinterpret this as meaning cell phones are banned entirely at the school (possibly because of Jim telling Odd that using cell phones was "strictly forbidden on school grounds" in the episode Rock Bottom?); the actual policy is stated specifically in the episode "Satellite". Jim's actions (like swiping a cell phone out of a child's hand) can reinforce this misinterpretation due to his strongly-authoritarian and drill instructorish attitude.

Origin
Bin Ball started in Secaucus of 2005 that swept Harmon Plaza was created by accident when several staff members of the then MetroStars were kicking a soccer ball around their office. When one of the original 5 members (that shall remain nameless) made an attempt to kick the ball into a large trash bin in the middle of the room from his rolling leather office chair Bin Ball was born.
Rules
Rules were quickly decided, tactics developed, strategies applied and daily games began. The number one rule in Bin Ball is, you don't talk about Bin Ball. Your typical Bin Ball game puts 4 players in the 4 corners of a room with a large trash can in the middle. To start the game any given player will serve the ball after addressing the player he will be serving to. To go for the bin each player must get at least one touch on the ball, and all shots at goal must be a ONE TIMER! If a goal is scored without each player touching the ball it is deemed a "premature" bin. This is a cardinal sin in the Bin Ball world and some players have been banished from the game for repeated violations (The Link). In Bin Ball, everything is in. A ball can be played off of computers, lights, walls, desks, and people. It is considered "live" until it touches the carpet. Once it there is direct contact with the floor that rally ends.
There is a loose rule in Bin Ball that keeps each player in their own "Quadrant". Each players quadrant is roughly the same size, but shape and obstructions depend on the layout of each office. Some of the best rallies in Bin Ball have been know to cause the most carnage. Players overlapping quadrants, office supplies have been strewn across the room, light fixtures knocked down, and ceiling tiles broken.
Nature Of The Game
As the game progressed many new sayings developed. Classics like "don't let it die" and "good bin" were often heard being shouted from the room. Amazing acts of athleticism were also rewarded with sayings of their own. A "Natural Bin" is when all participating players get only one touch on the ball before being put in the bin. A "Pure Bin" is when ball is put in the bin after each player gets only one touch on the ball in either a clockwise or counter clockwise direction.
Expansion
With participation at an all time high in the Fall of 05 there were instances where a 5th player was added to the game sitting in a stationary kitchen chair. This player was at a severe disadvantage since he could not roll along after wild passes like his other 4 teammates.
True Meaning
Bin Ball is the ultimate team game amongst friends. A game where individuals do not compete against each other, nor do you compete against other teams. This is a game where a group of individuals come together to compete within. There are no losers in Bin Ball...only winners!
