In the fictional world of SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, the Tome of Time was an ancient book of spells kept by The Pastmaster. Prior to his capture and imprisonment, by the magic council of Megalith City, the Pastmaster hid the Tome of Time in his tower. Sometime during the 800 years that passed while the wizard was entombed, the book was discovered by archaeologists and given to the Megakat City Museum of History as part of their new exhibit. Freed from his centuries-long sleep by a pair of grave robbers, the Pastmaster immediately proceeded to the museum and stole the book.
The Tome of Time was destroyed shortly afterward, when it fell from the Pastmaster's grasp and was sucked into the intakes of the Turbokat and shredded. However, the Pastmaster was able to go back in time (with some help from the Swat Kats) and retrieve the book from its hiding place before it was discovered.
