The Kingdom of Bénétin
The rock of Bénétin is located 48 degrees 41 min 30 sec North, 1 degrees 58 min West, off the French coast of St Malo, in Brittany.
The name of the Island can be checked on the French chart 7131 edited by Sthe SHOM in 1993. The following link gives a preview of the chart, on which Bénétin can clearly be seen (48 degrees 41min 30 sec North, 1 degrees 58 min West). The name itself can be checked on the chart in any nautical bookstore in France.
The name Bénétin is attributed to a member of the gang of pirates that used to lie in wait in the bay of the Lupin in Rothéneuf. The pirate Bénétin is one of the characters carved on rocks by the famous Abbé Fouré (http://www.art-insolite.com/pageinsolites/insofoure.htm).
Ownership of the island is disputed. While a handful of local fishermen claim it belongs to the French Maritime Domain, Sigismond made it an independent kingdom in 1989. He was proclaimed King of Bénétin by the population present on the Island a few days after the conquest.
Very few have had the chance to meet His Majesty Sigismond who is also Protector of La Bigne, a land mass located half a mile away in the West-North-West of Bénétin and conquered in 2004. For security reasons and by personal taste, His Majesty Sigismond spends most of his time in exile, travelling around the world. He can be contacted via the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bénétin in the United Kingdom.
The flag of the Kingdom of Bénétin represents the coat of arms of the Royal House: "De gueule à la croix d'argent couverte par une croix de sable chargée en abîme d'une croix d'argent fleuronnée et fichée".
The Crest of the royal house:
In 2004, for the fifteenth anniversary of the foundation of the Kingdom, a commemorative plaque and a flag were installed on the South-East end of the Island. The following picture was taken at this memorable event
The Kingdom of Bénétin has an active cavalry and an active naval fleet whose flagship is a type F70 frigate. The frigate is currently serving in the French Navy, as the Kingdom found it hard to maintain such a vessel at sea without the financial support of a larger nation. The Admiral of the Fleet of Bénétin is an experienced sailor and successful French writer whose name is kept secret for obvious reasons.
The Kingdom of Bénétin has an Embassy in the United Kingdom and in France. It also maintains friendly diplomatic relationships with The Kingdom of Patagonia, whose Consul General is the French writer Jean Raspail. The Box Ghost is a generally harmless ghost and running gag from the animated series Danny Phantom. He is voiced by Rob Paulsen.
Appearances/History
Serving mostly as a cameo, Box Ghost first appeared in "One of a Kind". Box Ghost makes his attack on a warehouse, returning by the end the same episode by entering Danny's class only for him to be defeated again. In "Splitting Images", Box Ghost makes the attack on Danny at the opening, and actually manages to best him. The Box Ghost returns in the end with his new name, "The Mechanical Frog Ghost", but he immediately changes his mind when the mechanical frog malfunctions. In "Prisoners of Love", he meets Danny at an area in the Ghost Zone where human-world objects are kept. Walker and his lackeys eventually arrest them both. In prison, Box Ghost and all the ghosts teamed up with Danny to escape.
He made a brief appearance in "Lucky in Love" while Danny was on a picnic with Paulina (actually Kitty in diguise) only to be beaten up by Danny to impress her. He showed briefly in "Life Lessons" where he was used as bait by Skulker to lure Danny and Valerie, chased by the latter by end. He returned in Reign Storm where he displayed his new power to control bubble wrap. He, along with the other ghosts, teamed up to stop Pariah Dark. He briefly appears in "Identity Crisis", taking offense to Danny and his friend's lack of care towards his already low level of threat.
In the alternate future of "The Ultimate Enemy", he and the Lunch Lady Ghost are married and have a child (humorously called Box Lunch). His future self is muscular, and had an eyepatch and a hook, due to injuries sustained by Dark Danny. He is considerably more dangerous and violent in this future. He is also more powerful than his present self, able to fire cube-shaped ectoplasmic constructs of destructive energy. It should also be noted that his version is no longer the comedic relief he once was but a more serious, sadistic old man who wants nothing other than revenge.
Box Ghost is one of the ghosts who helped Danny save Christmas in "The Fright Before Christmas". He later makes another appearance in Secret Weapons, where he traps Tucker and Sam and fights Danny. He ends up escaping after Danny was sucked into the Fenton Thermos (yet again) by his sister Jazz.
His biggest (and only main) appearance took place in "Boxed Up Fury", when he steals after frustration from the lack of fear he inputs in others, forcing Danny to seek her himself in order to stop him which they eventually succeeds with Pandora ultimately forcing Box Ghost to tidy up the mess he created.
The Box Ghost's final appearance is in the series finale, Phantom Planet. He is seen only briefly on a few occasions, once being defeated by Vlad's team of Ghost Hunters, the Masters Blasters, and again as one of the many ghosts to help Danny and Skulker turn the entire planet intangible so that an asteroid can pass through it.
Personality/Weakness
The Box Ghost is a rather comical ghost who, despite numerous shouts of "Beware!" is not as threatening as he intends to be. He loves to say his catchphrase: "I am the Box Ghost! Beware!" and is usually too busy shouting out his name or incompetent to actually cause damage.
The Box Ghost's greatest weakness is the fact that he is not very bright and constantly misjudges his rather meager abilities, seeing them as bigger than they are. Incompetent in battle and serving more as a joke to Danny's team then anything else, he has his rare moments when he sees his own victories. He becomes indignant when referred to as anything apart from "The Box Ghost"--such as when Jazz called him the "Crate Creep." He's serves more of a running gag than a bonafide threat. In his one star appearance in "Boxed Up Fury" the Box Ghost is described as "a ghost with an inferiority complex, who just wants attention".
Power
The Box Ghost has the standard ghost powers of intangibility, invisibility, and flight. He has the ability to control boxes, and to put out the items inside. In "Reign Storm", he gains the ability to control bubble wrap as well. In "The Ultimate Enemy", the future version of Box Ghost has gained the power to create energy cubes out of thin air. In Boxed Up Fury after he stole Pandora's Box he temponarily gained unlimited evil power which made him unstoppable.
