Victor Pylypovych Linetsky (, ; 31 January 1901 – Yekaterinodar, Kuban Region, Southern Russia – 19xx Lviv, Ukraine) was a Russian petroleum hydrogeologist. He criticized physical backgrounds of the hypothesis of “primary” migration from “source” rocks to reservoirs and so-called long-distance migration. Developed the model of vertical migration of the abiotic oil from the great depth to its accumulations in the upper crust. Described how seismic shock is transformed into the hydraulic impact within fluid-saturated fault zone.
He was through with his gymnasium in 1918 and graduated from Leningrad Mining Institute in 1930 as mining petroleum engineer. After graduation, he worked for LenGas, GIProVod and People’s Commissariat of NarkomZem. During World War II he was evacuated and worked in Kazakhstan. After the war he was with HydroEnergyProject Institute (Moscow), than he joined WodGeo in Kharkiv and later worked for UkrHydroEnergyProject Institute in Lviv. His PhD thesis in Engineering “Technique to study sagging of loess-like rocks” was defended at Kharkiv University in 1945.
The crucial point of his career was 1948 when he joined the Lviv Branch of the Institute of Geological Sciences headed by Professor Vladimir Porfiriev. Since 1953 Linetsky led the Hydrogeology and Engineering Department of the Institute later renamed to Oil and Gas Migration Dept. he defended his Dr.Sc. dissertation “Physical principles of oil migration” in 1959 at the USSR Academy of Science Oil Institute (Moscow) and became a professor in 1967. He published about 50 research papers including 5 monographs.
The letter of the hacienda of Figueroa () was an 1834 letter from the Argentine governor of Buenos Aires Juan Manuel de Rosas to the caudillo Facundo Quiroga. It is one of the few documents written by Rosas, detailing his political ideas.
Rosas had ruled Buenos Aires from 1829 to 1832, ending a civil war started by Juan Lavalle. He waged then the first conquest of the desert, but refused to be appointed governor again if it was without the Sum of public power. A civil war erupted between the provinces of Tucumán and Salta, and Quiroga was appointed to mediate between them. Quiroga left to the north, and Rosas stayed at the hacienda of Figueroa, at San Andrés de Giles. He wrote the letter there, dated on December 20, 1834, which was sent to Quiroga. Quiroga read it in Santiago del Estero.
Rosas explained in the letter that the country was not ready to convene a constituent assembly to write a constitution. The country had just ended a civil war, and the provinces were almost in anarchy. A constituent assembly would be filled of unitarians, and fail like the attempts of 1819 and 1826. It would also be expensive, and the Argentine economy was poor. And if the convention was held in Buenos Aires, the other provinces would not trust it.

Elizabeth Island is an island located inside of the Parry Sound in the Georgian Bay in Lake Huron, located ~5.1km northwest of the town of Parry Sound. The island has many smaller, neighbouring islands like Lang's Island, Davis Island, and Mary Island.
Like Huckleberry Island, a similar island located in the Parry Sound, the island is quite popular amongst tourists and townsfolk due to a lot of the island being public and available for recreational activities, like hiking and camping.
Ecosystem and wildlife
The island is home to a diverse ecosystem of both flora and fauna, including the American toad, dragonhunter, red-backed salamander, striped maple, and the northern map turtle to name a few.
