The Creator's Choice Awards (officially nicknamed The Cinnies) are annual awards presented by the Creator's Choice Awards Economy to honor outstanding achievements in film, television, and digital media. Voted on by a global collective of content creators, film critics, and digital commentators, the awards provide a creator-led perspective on the year's finest media achievements.

The awards were founded on October 28, 2025, by film and television commentator and content creator Tyler "Sooplex" Williams. The inaugural ceremony took place on March 7, 2026, and was broadcast live on YouTube.

History

The Creator's Choice Awards were established in late 2025 by Tyler Williams to address what he characterized as a lack of representation for digital film commentators and online content creators within traditional Hollywood critics' groups and industry guilds. Williams sought to establish an awards body consisting of voices who engage directly with modern digital audiences through platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and film-focused podcasting networks.

Voting Body and Leadership

The voting body of the organization is known as "The Economy", which comprised over 75 ACTIVE digital creators during its inaugural year, with plans to expand to over 150 members for subsequent voting cycles. The production and organization of the annual broadcast are overseen by a group of creators referred to as "The Producers". For the inaugural 1st ceremony, the production team was led by producers Tyler "Sooplex" Williams, Ciaran Rabbitte, Sera McFarland, Kemar Maat, and Jayla Phipps.

The Midsummers

In 2026, the organization introduced "The Midsummers", a mid-year awards cycle recognizing films released between January 1 and July 3 of the calendar year. Rather than traditional trophies, honorees are presented with "flowers" in categories covering drama, performances, and direction.

The top honor of the mid-year cycle is the Summer Solstice Prize. Uniquely, the film awarded the Summer Solstice Prize receives an automatic nomination for Best Film at the following year's main Creator's Choice Awards ceremony. The inaugural Midsummers ceremony was scheduled for broadcast on August 7, 2026.
