The Main Attraction was an American pop group from the 1960s that combined pop and soul. They signed with Tower Records and were sponsored by Wurlitzer INSTRUMENTS.

Their song "Everyday" was sampled by Australian group "The Avalanches" in their main hit "Since I left you" that reached # 16 in UK top 40 singles in April 2001.

Gene & Jeanne

The Salovic brothers recorded several songs as a duo ("Gene and Jeanne") since 1963.

Gene & Jeanne released the 3 first singles in Bobby Records. "I know me" was released in Kapp.

  • "Let Me Love You" / "Biggest Flirt In Town" (1963). Both songs were written by Jeanne Salo and produced by Don Bray.
  • "Baby, Baby, Baby" / "You Shake Me Up So Bad" (1963). Both songs were written by Jeanne Salo and produced by Don Bray.
  • "That Girl Over There" / "Hey Girl".
  • They also covered in 1965 "Yakety Yak" written by Leiber-Stoiler as a b-side of "I know me".

"Since I Left You"

The Main Attraction became more famous in 2000 when the Australian electronic dance music group The Avalanches sampled "Everyady" (1967) in their third single "Since I left You" from the group's debut album of the same name.

The Avalanches reached #16 in the UK Single Charts with the single "Since I left you" and #8 in the UK Album charts with the album "Since I left you".

"Since I left You" features a vocal sample of "Everyday" as the song's chorus.

The original lyric is "Since I met you" but was rearranged until it sound "Since I left you".
