Zombie with a Shotgun

Zombie with a Shotgun is an upcoming American horror action film adapted from the popular comic and web series of the same name. Production for the film began in 2016 in New York City and it is expected to be released in March 2017.
Plot
The film follows Aaron Walker (Braeden Baade) and his girlfriend Rachel Young (Kathryn Kuhn) after Aaron is infected by an apparent zombie virus. As the story unfolds, Aaron becomes trapped in a transitional phase between human and zombie, giving him the ability to communicate with other zombies. With these skills, he becomes a vulnerable pawn and is pursued by a shadowy cast of characters with ulterior motives. Ultimately, Aaron and Rachel must track down the source of his infection, while trying to maintain their relationship in the process.
Production
Pre-production for Zombie with a Shotgun began in early 2016 following a successful crowdfunding campaign, raising over $20,000. The film is being shot in New York City and is written and directed by Hilton Ariel Ruiz, who has been directing the Zombie with a Shotgun web series since 2012.
Reception
Initial press following released trailers from the film has applauded the choice to put a zombie as the protagonist, rather than a human. PopcornHorror.com wrote that by putting "zombies at the centre of a zombie film, they can create a brand new experience for horror fans" and DailyDead.com called it "what Zombie and Horror fans have been waiting for." Chris Savage of Horror-Movies.ca called the premise "different and highly enjoyable."
