Zombie garage is a new style of music that has been used by music fans to describe UK band The Horrors. Zombie garage is influenced by a variety of genres. Specifically 60's garage rock, punk rock, gothic rock, surf rock, post-punk, indie rock, shoegaze and deathrock, generating an aggressive, horror-inspired and distorted sound, often in an upbeat pace with distorted instruments and sometimes screamed vocals. The term rarely appears in the mainstream music press however, and is often solely used by Horrors fans alone. It has given way to something of a small subculture of Horror fans.
