Zimmer Real Estate Services

Zimmer Real Estate Services is a privately-owned Kansas City, Missouri-based real estate developer that develops and/or manages large industrial real estate throughout the Midwest and most particularly in the metropolitan Kansas City area.
Its projects include the headquarter of Sprint Nextel and Russell Stover Candies. In 2009 it received a contract to relocate the Kansas City Plant a facility to build used to assemble 85 percent of the non-nuclear components of the nuclear bombs.
The company was founded in 1948 by Albert W. Zimmer and is still owned by the Zimmer family.
Projects
*Sprint Nextel headquarters campus in Overland Park, Kansas - In 1997 it was named Sprint's owner representative to build what become the 4 million-square foot headquarters campus on 200 acres which cost $1 billion when it opened in 2003.
*College Basketball Experience in Kansas City - Zimmer managed the development for the National Association of Basketball Coaches of the $24 million 42,000 square foot College Basketball Experience (CBE)/National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame adjacent to the Sprint Center which opened in 2007.
*Village West at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas - In 1997 it was named by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas to develop the 400 acre Village West development adjacent to the Kansas Speedway
*Centerpoint Intermodal Kansas City Smartport - In 2007 it entered into an arrangement to work with CenterPoint Properties to build an intermodal facility for the Kansas City Southern Railroad at the abandoned Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base. Plans call for 5,000 million square feet of industrial space.
*Kansas City Plant - In 2009 it and CenterPoint won a contract to relocate the Kansas City Plant from Bannister Federal Complex to be across the street from Centerpoint Intermodal at Richards Grebauer. The plant builds 85 percent of the non-nuclear components of the United States nuclear bomb arsenal. This will be the first time that the facility will be privately owned.
*Hallmark Cards - Zimmer has been the lead developer for Hallmark Cards developments around the world for nearly 50 years. Its developments include portions of Crown Center
*Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City - Zimmer provided Planning and Development, Construction Management when the Reserve relocated from its headquaters at 925 Grand to its new headquaters in Penn Valley Park.
*Russell Stover Candies - Zimmer represented Russell Stovers in its move to a headquaters on and is the building manager.
