Zebra Lines

Zebra Lines is the descriptive term for the characteristic pattern of metaphyseal banding seen on the radiographs of children receiving cyclical bisphosphonate therapy. The band intervals relate to the age of the patient, the rate of growth, and the dosing regimen. The term was created in order to make a distinction from Harris lines.
This term was first proposed by Dr Munjed Al Muderis in the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. It has since been used in various other publications, including The New England Journal of Medicine, the Indian Journal of Radiology and Imaging, and the American College of Rheumatology
