Zainab Usman is a development professional and public policy expert at the world bank in Washington D.C. Her expertise is on the governance and institutions of natural resources management, energy, policy and service delivery. She is a public sector specialist at the World Bank in Washington D.C. She joined the World Bank in 2016 as part of the Young Professionals program. She is the author of a book "Economic diversification in Nigeria: Fractious politics and economy beyond oil" . She is the author of various research articles, including "The success and failure of economic reform in Nigerian's post-military politic settlement" published in journal, African Affairs Early life and education Zainab was born in Kaduna Nigeria.She lived in Katsina for the first three years of her life and later moved back to Kaduna where she attended Kaduna Capital School and later Therbow Secondary School Zaria for her Primary and Secondary education. She obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in international Studies from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (2008), Masters (M.Sc) in International Political Economy and Development from the University of Birmingham (Ph.D) international development from Oxford University (2017). Career Zainab Usman is currently at the world bank in Washington DC, as a public sector specialist office of the chief Economist, African Region. She has previously worked at the economic community of west African State (ECOWAS), The international Crises Group And the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford. she has also consulted for international Development (DFID), and the office of Nigerian National Security Advisor (ONSA).
