Zad

Zad played a dozen or so clubs, parties, colleges and bars in 1992, including the Whiskey in Hollywood, for which they broke the cardinal 'no pay to play' rule. They ended up spending couple of weekends prior running up and down Sunset Boulevard like silly assholes selling tickets to people who didn't want them, including Ron Jeremy, and played a galvanizing fifteen minutes, almost having to pay the burnt out "soundman" to let them videotape it. We are humbled by their passing into the icy waters of obscurity.

Zad's combination of punk, humour and grindcore was unique and fun and the chemistry between the band members was unmistakable. This, together with teenage enthusiasm and skilful play was what made Zad so appealing and unforgettable.
