Thieves Oil Thieves Oil is a proprietary blend of essential oils marketed by the company. It contains clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils and is claimed to have antimicrobial properties. The trademark draws upon the legend of four thieves during the Bubonic Plague who supposedly stole from the dead without getting sick themselves. When caught they revealed that they rubbed themselves with a concoction of garlic, herbs and spices. The recipe became known as Four Thieves Vinegar and has a colorful history. Controversy The website Quackwatch has asserted negative claims to Gary Young and Young Living. Young Living has created a rebuttal in response.
