Young Jin Moon (1978 - October 28, 1999 At the time he had been married for two years. He was in Reno on a visit to the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The Washoe County coroner's office stated that the death was a suicide. from his sister (Yeon Jin Moon), she details the development of depression and anxiety in Young Jin's life. She also notes how she felt when he insisted on traveling to Las Vegas alone when she asked to accompany him, suggesting he may have been planning this suicide attempt. Three days after the death the body was buried in Reno, a very unusual action for a member of the "True Family". Less than two weeks later it was exhumed for reburial in Korea. The exhumation was approved by County Commissioners, after Assemblyman Dave Humke, R-Reno, made a request on the behalf his family. A spokesman for the Sun Myung Moon family asserted their position that they thought the death was not a suicide. In a memo to all U.S. Unification Church members, American Unification Church President Dr. Tyler Hendricks asked the members to repent: "Now is a time for us all to repent and reflect deeply, offer our prayers for Young Jin Nim, who has become an offering for our own inadequacies and inability, and make our determination to fulfill the path of the providence in his place."
