The Young IFA Network (YIN) is a member group within the International Fiscal Association (IFA), a non-profit international organisation that advances the study of tax law. IFA achieves its objectives through its annual congresses and the scientific publications as well as through national and regional conferences and scientific research. Although the operations of IFA are essentially scientific in character, the subjects selected take account of current fiscal developments and changes in local legislation. Many activities of IFA take place through its 51 locally organised Branches. To attract more members in the early stages of their career, IFA in 2005 adopted the Young IFA Network (YIN) initiative of advocate Itzik Amiel, who was the founder and the first chair of YIN. A YIN Committee consisting of young IFA members is committed to developing and proposing ideas and implement programmes, both at the Branch level and worldwide, to make IFA still more attractive to young members. The YIN Committee will: *facilitate communication among young members (incl. LL.M. candidates and Phd. Students); *initiate and support activities and programmes aiming primarily at young members; *identify opportunities for (and possible barriers to) increased participation of young members in IFA. *work towards providing local and global discussion forums for young tax professionals throughout the world. IFA’s Branches have been requested to take part in this initiative at the Branch level. Some of the YIN ideas have already been realised by several Branches, and further ideas will be implemented in the forthcoming IFA annual Congresses.
