York University Sailing and Windsurfing Club is a sailing and windsurfing club at The University of York. They sail at the Beaver Sailing Club (Southfields Reservoir) on most Wednesdays and Saturdays/Sundays during term time. They Sail all year round and windsurf during the summer month. The club runs fresher/beginner sessions throughout the year while the more experienced sailors visit a number of university team racing events throughout the year. History The club has a long history dating back to the opening of York University in 1963. In 1998 the club purchases a fleet of 6 Laser 2's. In 2007 the club replaced it fleet of aging Laser 2's with a fleet of 6 new Fireflies. |
