Yogic Treatments and Natural Remedies

Yogic Treatments and Natural Remedies is a book published in Jamalpur (India) by the philosopher and social reformer Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar aka Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (1921-1990). The volume (with 150 pages in the last edition of 2004) was originally published in Bengali with the name of Yaogik Cikitsa. Dedicated to the late Sarat Chandra Bose was released for the first time on 1957.
Contents
The book contains 41 chapters, each corresponding to the name of a different disease and presenting various Yaogika methods of treating the various illnesses. As stated by the author in the preface, the purpose of the book "is to let people cure themselves by practising the Ásanas and Mudrás.." describing "along with the Ásanas and Mudrás, a list of some free or inexpensive and easily-available, but proven and useful remedies, as well as the methods of their application..".
According to the author "The object of the art of healing is to cure a patient, both physically and mentally. So the question is not the advocacy of any particular school of medical science, but rather the welfare of the patient". According to Sarkar diseases can be cured through natural methods: yogic exercise using water, proper diet, herbal remedies, sunlight and air. Some of the herbal recipes included in the book are quoted on scientific journals.
Another version (completely revisited) of the same book has been published on 2011 with a different title. This new volume, titled "Natural medicine", is much different from the original one and has been greatly expanded with many more pages (214) and informations like drawings, additional explanations (particularly for the asanas and for the herbals remedies) and coloured diagrams.
